Traditionally, healthcare faced hurdles such as inefficient patient data management, fragmented information, data security vulnerabilities, and a lack of comprehensive clinical decision support. HHIMS was conceptualized to mitigate these challenges and reshape the healthcare landscape.
HHIMS is a comprehensive platform encompassing outpatient management, inpatient management, clinic management, and robust reporting and analytics functionalities. Its primary objective is to improve patient care, enhance record-keeping efficiency, and enable informed decision-making for healthcare professionals while reducing operational costs and ensuring organized internal management processes.
Currently implemented in 81 hospitals nationwide, including prominent institutions such as the National Hospital, Teaching Hospitals, Provincial and District General Hospitals, Base Hospitals, and selected Divisional hospitals, HHIMS has registered over 9.5 million patients to date and maintains around 23 million Electronic Medical Records within the system. The Ministry of Health and ICTA are actively collaborating to extend the system to other hospitals across the country. Moreover, in the future, the system will be further enhanced, with an additional feature that seamlessly provides all relevant patient details when transferring a patient from one hospital to another, further elevating patient care and streamlining healthcare processes.
