JVP Parliamentary group leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the party Headquarters today (24) officially announced that the JVP shall support General Sarath fonseka as their common Presidential candidate at the Presidential elections.
The Central Committee of the JVP has consented to this, he added. This does not mean that the JVP will be joining with the UNF, and it is the common candidate who should decide on this, he further stated. Gen. Fonseka is not fielding as the Presidential common candidate under the JVP, but under another party, to disclose which details is too early, he asserted.
