UNP gen. Secretary Tissa Attanayake told Lanka e News that the UNP is with the general view that General Fonseka shall be the common candidate for the forthcoming Presidential elections.
This view of the UNP has to be finally decided after discussions with the constituent parties of the UNF. Therefore, an official announcement on this shall be made next Friday, Tissa Attanayake added. It is reported that, in the meanwhile JVP is having discussions with the General Sarath Fonseka in regard to his common candidature
