SLFP General Secretary and Minister of Agriculture Maithripala Sirisena has said that an announcement on the presidential elections could be expected soon, even as soon as over the course of the end of the week. Responding to a question posed by the media who asked if he was waiting for an auspicious time to make the announcement, the Minister had replied that it could possibly be so.
The Minister had also said that he was confident of victory adding that unlike other parties; their candidate had already been prepared with a working order for the elections with posters, cut outs, meeting places and other such activities already planned out.
He had also made a common request that all parties join with them on this victorious journey they have embarked on.
